GVLT Welcomes Keegan Halsey
We’re excited to introduce our newest face in the office, Keegan. Keegan is working as a conservation and trails intern with GVLT through the summer as a Montana Conservation Corps AmeriCorps Member. He’s working with volunteer groups and helping with various trail maintenance projects. Give him a high five if you see him out!
Learn a little more about Keegan:
Keegan attended the University of Buffalo and studied environmental design. He focused on urban planning (pedestrian infrastructure, economic development, land use planning) and also received an additional minor through the Department of Geography for urban and regional analysis.
Keegan is originally from from Syracuse, NY and spent his last 6 years in Buffalo, NY. He spent summers doing real estate as a leasing agent and coaching local swim teams.
He and his friend went on a month long road trip throughout the west last summer and fell in love with it. They traveled up the coast and looped back from Olympic, Glacier, Yellowstone and Yosemite.
He found MCC and the Conservation Intern Program after looking at jobs in Montana. After learning about Buffalo and other rust belt cities for years, he decided he had had his fill and wanted to take his efforts outside of the urban environment, give back somehow, and pursue conservation. He’s loving life in the Gallatin Valley!
