Lupine Legacy Planned Giving Challenge
October 30, 2023
The future of our trails and open spaces will be built on today’s planned gifts. It takes all of us to keep GVLT’s promise of enduring protection of agricultural lands, fish and wildlife habitat, and trails and open space for generations to come. If you are planning to include GVLT in your will, trust, or as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy, now is the time to let us know.
A GVLT board member has put up a generous match to incentivize the documentation of more planned gifts at GVLT. Between now and December 15, each documented letter of intention will unlock a $2,500 gift to GVLT, up to $50,000 in total. With this generous match, the impact of your planned gift will be felt now.
GVLT established the Lupine Legacy Planned Giving Society for those who have included GVLT in a planned gift to ensure that future generations may enjoy the same trails and vast open spaces that we know and love today.
“We have been supporters of GVLT from the very beginning. It brings us great joy and peace of mind to know that, through our membership in the Lupine Legacy Society, our contribution will continue beyond our lifetimes, enabling future generations of Montanans to access the wild lands and rest their eyes on the rural vistas that have meant so much to us,” explain Adrienne Mayor and Josiah Ober.
Keith Reed, a GVLT board member and fellow member of the Lupine Legacy Society continues, “I’ve been a ‘consumer’ of GVLT’s benefits—open space, viewsheds, trails, etc. While I will always support GVLT while living, I also established a planned gift to help carry on the program after I’m gone. Half of my gift will go to daily operations, and half to GVLT’s permanent endowment. After all, GVLT is required to monitor and defend easements in perpetuity, and none of us is going to be here that long.”
If you are planning to include GVLT in your plans, please let us know so we can welcome you as a member of the Lupine Legacy Society. Providing us with notice of your intention is the best way to ensure that your gift is used just as you wish. We can provide valuable information about a variety of options that you can then discuss with your professional advisors.
