FEATURED TRAIL
Westside Trail
Description
The west side of Bozeman has a plethora of great trails. One of the best is the aptly named Westside Trail. This trail starts with a connection to the Bozeman Pond Park trails and takes you behind the mall and straight north, through beautiful, manicured greenways and neighborhoods. A short section requires users to follow the sidewalk along Hunters Way from Babcock Street to just north of Mendenhall Street. Here, the gravel trail continues north all the way to Oak Street, where you can easily connect to West Winds Park or another great trail system at the Gallatin County Regional Park. This quiet trail is a wonderful respite and escape from a busy life.

Trail History
GVLT and the City of Bozeman have been working to connect neighborhoods on the west side of Bozeman through a combination of trail easements and linear parks developed in cooperation with community development efforts dating back decades. Key pieces of this linear park system include Bozeman Pond Park, an essential trail easement behind the mall, and the Harvest Creek neighborhood, which started building trails back in 1999. New efforts to increase connectivity are ongoing. The goal is to ensure safe bicycle and pedestrian access to Cattail Pond and the East Valley Center Pathway in the coming years.
