Summer Volunteers Needed
Do you love trails and open land? Lend a hand! GVLT is seeking volunteers to help with a variety of projects this summer. Your time is one the best things you can give to GVLT so that we can continue protecting the place you love!
Discovery Walks: Sweepers
Each of our Discovery Walks has a volunteer sweeper in addition to the walk leader. The sweeper is a GVLT representative on the walk that makes sure no one gets left behind and provides support to the walk leader. Sweepers help people sign waivers and surveys. The sweeper volunteer position is just one-hour during the guided walk. Dates, times, and locations vary depending on the walks. We currently have 22 walks in May and June that need volunteers. Email ej@gvlt.org if you can help!
Conserved Land Stewardship: Planters
Our land stewardship team is seeking volunteers to join them for planting projects on conserved land throughout the valley. This volunteer opportunity will require a full day commitment and a higher level of physical activity. You’ll get your hands dirty, but you’ll be enjoying wide open spaces under the big sky. Planting dates are April 27, 28, 29 and May 17. Please RSVP to lucas@gvlt.org if you can help!
Trail Maintenance: Highland Glen
The Southwest Montana Mountain Bike Association and GVLT are partnering to improve the Highland Glen Nature Preserve Trails. Thanks to Bozeman Health, our community has access to beautiful single track trail just east of town. Join fellow trail lovers for a work party on the evening of April 24th at 5:30pm. RSVP to jeff@gvlt.org if you can make it.
Trail Maintenance: National Trails Day
Each year our community gathers to work on one trail maintenance project for National Trails Day. On June 3rd, GVLT and volunteers will be improving and enhancing the trails at the Gallatin County Regional Park off of Davis and Oak St. Volunteer registration starts at 8:30, with an orientation at 9am. Picnic lunch will be offered after the work is done! No RSVP is necessary.
Trail Ambassadors: Summer
GVLT is seeking volunteers to serve as Trail Ambassadors on local trails throughout town. Trail Ambassadors are a friendly face on the trails that can help users with directions, maps, conditions, information, and guidelines around etiquette. If you’re interested in a Trail Ambassador position, email dan@gvlt.org.
Trail Maintenance: Group Projects
We are always looking for groups from businesses or organizations that want to help with a trail project as a team. Projects include activities such as trail resurfacing, brush trimming, or weed removal. Contact dan@gvlt.org to schedule your group!
