EJ

Porth

Associate Director

“I am lucky beyond measure to live in such a special place. I have great comfort knowing that the work I do helps protect the things I treasure most about living here, even as our valley changes and grows.”

EJ joined GVLT in the spring of 2014. Her role at GVLT is chief story teller, connecting the community to the mission of GVLT through conversations about shared values and visions for the growing community's future. EJ supports the organization's external communications, outreach programming, fundraising, and operations. She works closely with local governments to advocate for trails and conservation in land use planning policies and decisions. EJ founded and facilitates GVLT's NextGen Advisory Board, a group of young professionals who advance GVLT's mission with the next generation of trails and conservation leaders . EJ led GVLT's efforts on the 2018 ballot measure to renew funding for the Gallatin County Open Lands Program. Prior to GVLT, she spent 5 years in Bozeman as the Development Coordinator for HAVEN, Marketing Director at Buffalo Restoration, and Program Director at the Bozeman Youth Initiative. She moved to Montana from Chicago where she attended Northwestern University and received a B.A. in Sociology. Originally from Minneapolis, MN, EJ enjoys the cold and exploring the last best place with her husband Pat and faithful friend, Oreo. EJ volunteers with a number of organizations such as a Women Who Wine, a women's philanthropy group, American Marketing Association MSU Chapter, and the Bozeman Area Community Foundation.
