“My husband and I are first-generation ranchers, and we put our ranch, North Bridger Bison, under a conservation easement with GVLT in 2021. I love the work GVLT does, and I'm excited to serve on the GVLT Board because I care deeply about land, ranching, and rural communities in Montana.”

Sarah Skoglund has lived in Montana since 2008. Along with her husband, Matt, Sarah is the founder and owner of North Bridger Bison, a regenerative bison ranch and direct-to-consumer bison meat business located in the Shields Valley northeast of Bozeman. In 2021, the Skoglunds put their ranch under a conservation easement with GVLT. Sarah is also a social worker and earned her master's in social work from Simmons University in 2020. Sarah is passionate about rural mental health in Montana, particularly the mental health of teens in rural communities. She also cares a great deal about ranching and agriculture—and supporting working ranches through her work with GVLT. Prior to starting North Bridger Bison and earning her social work degree, Sarah worked for several years at the Cancer Support Community in Bozeman, where she was the Director of Youth & Family Programs. Sarah, Matt, and their two young children, Otto and Greta, live on their ranch in the Shields Valley. Sarah loves yoga, art, skiing, bird-hunting, traveling, baking, and spending time with her family.
