A Tax-Saving Way to Protect What Matters
Did you know you can help build trails and preserve southwest Montana’s lands, air and water quality, wildlife habitat, and agricultural heritage with a gift through your individual retirement account (IRA)?
There are benefits for anyone 70 ½ years or older making qualified charitable distributions (QCD) from their IRA to GVLT. As you plan your 2024 year-end giving, consider making a tax-free QCD gift (up to $105,000 in 2024) through your IRA.
Benefits of This Gift
Benefits include:
Your QCD counts against your required minimum distribution, but not as income for federal tax purposes.
Your tax savings are equivalent to a deductible charitable contribution, even if you do not itemize.
QCDs allow you to manage your adjusted gross income, potentially providing additional tax savings.
GVLT receives 100% of the gift you direct to us.

Impact Future Generations
Extend your support beyond your lifetime by naming GVLT as a beneficiary of your IRA. You can do this at any age, and it costs you nothing today!
Here’s how:
Contact your IRA administrator or complete a change-of-beneficiary form online.
Name GVLT (EIN #81-0464513) as a beneficiary and indicate the gift percentage on the form.
Email GVLT Director of Development Justin Barth to let us know so we can thank you and welcome you to GVLT’s Lupine Legacy Society.
