Katie Sproles
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
katies@gvlt.org
“I am inspired by the GVLT team and community’s commitment to protecting open spaces and building trails. It’s an honor to be responsible for telling stories about this incredible landscape, our access to it, and the people who make it possible.”
Katie joined GVLT in September 2023 with extensive marketing and communications experience spanning several industries ranging from outdoor recreation to higher education, local government, and technology. In each of these roles, Katie felt fortunate to be creating compelling content about organizations that serve others or enable the work of those who do. At GVLT, Katie is dedicated to developing and sharing stories about trails and conservation with our community. Her role provides the perfect opportunity to dedicate her professional experience to her passion for the natural beauty and outdoor opportunities we are so lucky to live amongst. Since graduating from the University of California, Davis with a bachelor’s degree in communications, Katie has lived in two countries (the U.S. and Chile), four states (California, Colorado, Oregon, and Montana), and 10 cities—and has had too many addresses to count. Grateful to have explored such different landscapes, met unique people, and experienced diverse cultures, Katie considers every stop on that journey an integral part of her story. A mountain girl at heart, Katie is happy to have finally planted her roots in Bozeman, Montana. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Katie outside, looking for different ways to explore the local trails, rivers, and lakes. It’s hard to say whether she has more photos of Bozeman’s breathtaking sunrises and sunsets or her beloved dogs, Moby and Max. One thing is sure—she has fewer photos of her husband and two teenage daughters whom she loves deeply but are far less willing subjects.
