Katie manages GVLT's financial systems and operations to ensure smooth and strategic organizational sailing. She was raised in the north woods of Wisconsin and spent summers agate hunting along the shores of Lake Superior. Her love of the Rocky Mountain West grew from family visits to Wyoming where she enjoyed free rein among the sagebrush, wildflowers, and lodgepole. She graduated from Beloit College with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and her career has spanned education and youth development, as a classroom teacher, and nonprofit management and finances, as a founding COO who launched a nonprofit focused on teacher education. While she loves mucking about Excel sheets and financial data, outside of work you can find her feeding and riding her horse Harvey, hiking, birdwatching, or appreciating the alpenglow from her patio with her husband, Justin, while their two cats, Oona and Toby, meow from the window.
