Santa really delivered this year. In late December, GVLT finalized a conservation easement (voluntary conservation agreement) with the Jarvis Family.  Thanks to the family’s generosity and vision, 260 acres of breathtaking forest and critical wildlife habitat were protected in Bridger Canyon. We will all benefit from the scenic views of this open space, forever.

The Jarvis property is located along the eastern edge of Bridger Canyon off of Jackson Creek Rd. This special piece of land hosts exceptional wildlife habitat that is heavily used by elk and deer as they move between Bridger Canyon winter range and summer range in the Bangtail Mountains. Spring Creek flows across the property creating about 7 acres of wetlands. This property is also adjacent to other conserved land, creating a larger block of protected habitat for wildlife to move through. The Jarvis family has generously donated the entire value of this easement.

Thank you to the Jarvis Family for safe guarding this special place!
