Giving your time is one of the easiest ways you can help trails and conservation in Southwest Montana. Whether you have an hour or a few, you can make an impact. We have a number of ways you can give your time such as trail maintenance or becoming a trail ambassador. We also seek volunteers to help in our office and at special events.

Types of Projects
We offer a number of different opportunities and commitment levels for our volunteers. Below are the main areas where we seek volunteers.
Trail maintenance projects are great for groups or businesses who want to volunteer. Our trail work is typically seasonal. We use hundreds of volunteers in the spring, summer, and fall months to keep the trails in excellent condition. Typical projects include things like gravel resurfacing and weed management. Everyone is welcome to join us for our annual community-wide volunteer day in June, National Trails Day.
If you’re looking for a regular volunteer commitment, we are always looking for volunteers to become Trail Ambassadors. GVLT has partnered with a number of organizations to put volunteers on trails and at trailheads throughout town to act as a friendly face and resource for users. Trail Ambassadors hit the trails in the winter and the summer months.
Monthly Trail Work Days
For individuals looking to volunteer on the trails, the following dates are scheduled for you! If you are with a group and want to schedule your own date, email email@example.com.

Office and events
GVLT also uses volunteers in the office for administrative tasks and at events. Let us know if you’d like to get on the list for this type of volunteering and we’ll contact you when a need comes up.
