Open Lands Bike Tour
The Gallatin Valley is known for its postcard views, agricultural heritage, and vast recreational opportunities. These are just a few of the myriad of characteristics that make this place so special. Since 1990, the Gallatin Valley Land Trust has worked with willing landowners in order to protect those qualities. In May of 2018, GVLT held the first Open Lands Bike Tour. Stay tuned for details about our tour next summer!
A guided group ride, 8 and 26 miles, took participants through the beautiful Gallatin Valley countryside, much of which is protected open land. Open Lands Bike Tour took place on Saturday, May 19 and was free and open to all ages and abilities.
The event kicked off at Sacajawea Middle school, 3525 S 3rd Ave., with registration starting at 9:30 am, and rides starting at 10 am. Group ride opportunities varied in length and pace, all with the goal of enjoying beautiful views and learning about Open Lands!
The ride was great for avid bikers, novices, or families looking to dust off bikes and loosen legs.
