GVLT Community Events
Participating in a GVLT event is a great way to get involved and learn more about our work. Whether you want to have fun with fellow trail-lovers or enjoy the beautiful open spaces we protect, there is an event for you. Join us!
NextGen’s Picnic With Your People
For the week of August 15th through 23rd, we invite the community to seek out our trail systems and locally-grown food by hosting small picnics with their socially distanced housemates, friends, or “pods.” So grab a blanket, your closest pals, and raid your garden, farmers market, or local restaurant and enjoy a picnic at any of our local parks or trails.
Annual GVLT Events
Summer Trails Challenge
June 6-26, 2020
Raising money for GVLT is simple! Log your miles on the trail to help match our Trails Challenge fund from local businesses. 1 mile=$1 to support GVLT’s work to expand the Main Street to the Mountains trail system.
National Trails Day
June 6, 2020
Want to get your hands dirty? Grab a shovel and volunteer for National Trails Day. Every year on the first Saturday in June, hundreds of community members join GVLT for a morning of work to maintain or build our community trails. This event is free and open to the public.
Our annual supporter social is a fantastic opportunity to meet other trail-loving folk. Renew your annual gift or give what you can, enjoy a beer, and appetizers. Each year at Trail Mix we honor an individual with the Trail Partner of the Year Award.
Evening on the Land
Our bi-annual outdoor gala is as unique as it is grand. Guests enjoy views from a tent on a beautiful piece of conserved land in the Gallatin Valley. The event includes a locally-sourced dinner and live auction featuring priceless Montana experiences. Dance the night away and celebrate our region’s wide, open spaces.
May and June 2020
There’s no better way to explore the Main Street to the Mountains trail system than with a group of new friends. These one-hour guided trail walks will help you discover new paths. There’s a topic or activity for every age and interest! Walks are hosted throughout May and June.
Conservation Easement Bus Tour
2020 Cancelled due to COVID
Bozeman Pass is a critical corridor for some of our region’s most iconic wildlife. That’s why GVLT has been working for years to conserve properties with exceptional habitat in this area. See conservation in action as we walk the conserved Visscher property in Kelly Canyon and learn about the critters it protects.
