ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

“I am lucky beyond measure to live in such a special place. I have great comfort knowing the work I do helps protect the things I treasure most about living here, even as our valley changes and grows.”

EJ joined GVLT in the spring of 2014. She connects the community to the mission of GVLT through conversations about shared values and visions for the growing community's future. EJ supports the organization's operations, communications, outreach, strategy, organizational culture, and fundraising. She works closely with local governments to advocate for trails and conservation in land use planning policies and decisions. EJ founded and facilitates GVLT's NextGen Advisory Board, a group of rising trails and conservation leaders and GVLT ambassadors. EJ led GVLT's efforts on the 2018 ballot measure to renew funding for the Gallatin County Open Lands Program. Prior to GVLT, she spent five years in Bozeman as the Development Coordinator for HAVEN, Marketing Director at Buffalo Restoration, and Program Director at the Bozeman Youth Initiative. She moved to Montana from Chicago where she attended Northwestern University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, EJ enjoys the cold and exploring the last best place with her husband Pat, son Stanley, and faithful friend, Oreo. EJ is on the board of Random Acts of Silliness and volunteers with the One Valley Community Foundation.
