“I love hiking and biking our trails and I want to extend and improve them for everyone in our community.”

Bob and his wife Sally (a former GVLT Board member) moved to Gallatin County in 1995 to live in the country and near the land, rather than in the city. He loves to hike, especially Drinking Horse Mountain, and bike the GVLT Trails, which he and Sally do together for hours at a time. The open space is why they live in Bridger Canyon. Bob continues to enjoy skiing at Bridger Bowl and is an avid golfer and nature lover. He believes strongly in preserving open space, natural beauty and wildlife habitat. Bob graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in 1962, and an LLB in 1965. He was a lawyer with Fredrikson & Byron PA from 1965 to 1995. He was the Founding Director of the Center for Victims of Torture, and the Founding Director and President of the Advocates for Human Rights. Bob’s volunteer activities in the Bozeman community have included President of the Tepee Ridge HOA, Director of the Bridger Canyon HOA, Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Bozeman, and Director and President of Headwaters Academy.
