Anna Wearn (2)

NextGen Advisory Board Chair

“GVLT creates a sense of place and community by providing opportunities to connect, recreate, and commute sustainably. The lands, waters, wildlife, and trails that GVLT conserves and stewards are the social and ecological fabric of this region. I'm inspired to contribute to this important work.”

Anna is the Director of Government Affairs for the Center for Large Landscape Conservation, a Bozeman-based nonprofit organization. In this role, she works with governmental and non-governmental partners on policies that reconnect habitat, protect wildlife migration, and facilitate collaborative conservation at scale. She is currently on "detail" from the Center to the U.S. Department of the Interior as a climate resilience policy advisor. Previously, Anna has worked for the National Forest Foundation, U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and the Center for Natural Resources & Environmental Policy. She has also led ecology programs in national parks and forests across the country. Throughout her career, she has focused on conserving biodiversity, forging durable solutions to environmental conflicts, and enhancing the climate resilience of communities and ecosystems. Anna spends much of her spare time enjoying nature, including running and biking on GVLT's trails, skiing and climbing nearby peaks, and appreciating the amazing wildlife and wildflowers of Southwest Montana.
