“I am honored to join the GVLT family and am convinced that GVLT and the community it represents can be an impact player in the effort to address the existential conservation challenges that face our community, region, and planet.”

Allen is currently the Chief Development Officer for the Resources Legacy Fund (RLF). A “conservationist who fundraises,” Allen leads their fundraising efforts. Prior to joining RLF, he directed the major gift program for The Wilderness Society for nine years and enjoyed an 18-year career with The Nature Conservancy where, as East Idaho Program Manager, he focused on large landscape conservation in the Greater Yellowstone ecoregion utilizing conservation easements and fee acquisitions to ensure habitat connectivity for wide-ranging species. In his final six years with TNC, he opened the Bozeman office where he ended his run as Director of Major Gifts. Allen holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Montana’s environmental studies program and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi. Allen’s academic background and career have been focused on ensuring the Northern Rockies remain ecologically intact and home to North America’s iconic species, as well as a place that is revered around the world for its biological health and for the human communities that lead their lives in a way that honors its world-class natural values. Allen, his wife Dana, three adult daughters, and two English Pointers are proud Bozemanites who have made Bozeman home for 18 years.
