“Working on trails for GVLT is exciting because our work directly impacts where and how our families and friends can access safe and enjoyable trail networks.”
Adam was born in northern New Mexico but was raised in northwest Montana. Adam’s passion for sharing outdoor experiences with others and commitment to environmental management has been with him throughout his entire career, beginning right out of high school at Big Mountain Resort teaching and building trails. Between receiving a bachelor’s degree in geology from Whitman College and a master’s degree in watershed hydrology from the University of Montana, he gained his professional experience in various fields ranging from wellsite geology in oil/natural gas, teaching skiing in southern Europe, environmental/stormwater management, and parks and trails development. Throughout his college years, he led freshman college groups on outdoor adventure trips to British Columbia and worked in the campus outdoor shop. In graduate school, he created developmental race programs and built biking/hiking trails for Terraflow Trails Systems in Big Sky, Montana. Most recently, Adam was the Director of Parks and Trails for the Big Sky Community Organization where he oversaw the maintenance and expansion of the parks and trails system in Big Sky, Montana. Adam spends his free time with his wife, kids, and dog enjoying the trails on bikes and foot during the summer and during the winter, on telemark, cross country, and alpine skis.
