Help Us Celebrate 50,000 Acres Conserved By Donating Toward Our $50,000 Match
In May 2021, the Gallatin Valley Land Trust quietly reached a truly remarkable milestone. After partnering with the Visser family to conserve acres of productive farmland in the Churchill area, GVLT surpassed 50,000 acres of permanently protected land under easement. Thanks to your generosity and the conservation ethic of visionary landowners, these 78 square miles of protected open space are now protected for countless generations to come.
It’s a remarkable achievement but let’s be frank. It’s not enough.
At GVLT, we have the solutions and tools to protect what we love most about this special place. With your support, we are ready to redouble our efforts to accelerate the pace and scale of land conservation as development pressures continue to increase. In Southwest Montana, our land is our most valuable asset, and this beautiful valley is worth fighting for!
The actions we take as a community in the coming decade will forever dictate the look and feel of our home but the window for bold action is rapidly closing. As our region continues to grow, we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to save the incredible natural assets that make Southwest Montana the best place on earth to live, work, and play. And we need your help to do it.
This summer, the GVLT Board of Directors has pledged a $50,000 match to accelerate the pace of our land protection and trail building in Bozeman and beyond. If you believe that clean water, wildlife habitat, local agriculture, and places to connect with nature are important for us and our children, we invite you to join us and give back today.
It is only because our community shares these values that we are able to continue this work. Will you consider making a contribution to GVLT this summer? Any donation you make by August 1 will be matched dollar for dollar to double the impact of your donation. It took us 30 years to conserve the first 50,000 acres. How quickly can we conserve the next 50,000? With your support, we will protect the land that makes this place special and ensure great trails for generations to come.
