Trail History
It’s no secret that Bozemanites love their dogs. To give them more places to let their dogs run free, GVLT led the effort to create Snowfill as a designated off-leash park. We installed dog-proof fencing, added a water pump for thirsty pups, and built two miles of trails that meander through the park’s 37 hillside acres at the base of the Bridger Mountains. To accommodate its popularity, GVLT raised funds from grants, local businesses, and countless individual donors to increase the parking and install a much-needed vault toilet, which provides the only public restroom for miles. We have also helped the city manage dogs’ inevitable (ahem) side effects by installing waste stations at Snowfill and other points across the trail system.
